Haha, just messing with you.

BTW, it's always helpful to see pictures.

Nice looking M3. I think you realistically would have to add about $20k plus your car to get a 1M. 2008 M3, 28k miles, 6 speed, no nav, etc is worth around $40-42k private sale. 1M is worth around $60k+. Good luck in your search!

Great looking M3, but this was one of the primary reasons I hustled to get into a 1M - fuel consumption (20+mpg) on this car doesn't bother me at all where I know filling the M3 would hurt time and time again. Again, beautiful car. GLWS or trade

Don't be dramatic. M3 is around 19 and my 1M was around 21, it wont hurt that bad.

No, he's right. On paper, they might look close, but if you drive the car the way it's meant to be driven, not the way they tested it to come up with those numbers, there's a massive difference! Especially if you're doing mostly city driving...

I think with real world numbers, it's closer to what you're describing. Honestly, with 3 years of driving my M3 to and from work(22miles round trip) 50% city 50% highway, I was seeing 15-16mpg and that was with me really trying to see how good I could be. Short shifting, not gunning it from every light, basically driving like a granny, with corollas passing me. Maybe you could get slightly better with DCT but the S65 is a thirsty engine for sure.

DCT for the win (in mpg at least) I commute 8 miles with 6 of it hwy and average 19, and that includes me pounding it at least twice so I can hear it under the bridges I do remember holding my 1M in gear longer, especially with the magnaflow exhaust.
