BMW out of sport line wheels?!

My 2013 sport line xdrive was supposed to go into production this week but never did. When my dealer inquired BMWNA informed them there is a shortage of sport line wheels "through October". WTF!

Same thing happened to my 328 Sport X-drive a few weeks ago... It got delayed because of wheel shortage but thankfully it now arrived in the US!

I was told a similar problem occurred the optional 19" M-Sport staggered wheels in the summer. I ended up going a different route to avoid any delay just in case.

FYI Italy pretty much shuts down for August, and as we now lots of the wheels are made in Italy......manufacturers do make allownaces for this fact, but if order numbers have been unusually high, guess there could be a shortage.

Good to know. I was wondering where BMW gets their wheels from. The sport line wheels are nice though. Very "sporty".

Thats weird because production began the same day yours did and I have the sport line, then again I called the 1800 number. Do you think I would have to call the dealership to find out if it was delayed?

If yours actually went into production then you should be ok I would think. Mine never did which prompted me to call my dealer and find out about the wheels.

Ah okay that's true, mine was probably delayed already (My CA never contacts me when she says she will), my order was put through around mid July.
