Noises heard after closing doors
Have anyone of you noticed and heard those noises/sounds heard from under the carriage when you unlock or open or close the doors, especially the rear doors ??
What is that ?? Anyone knows that are the intented functions, or at least the results of those sounds? why? or i am just crazy, or is something wrong with my car... i find it strange...

I hear them too when I park in the garage; Whirs, hums, etc.
I have no idea what they are for, but they are pretty consistent. As long as there are no snaps, crackles, or pops, I'm just assuming that the sounds are normal. |

Me too.
I was sitting outside in the car a few nights ago, waiting for SWMBO to get ready. The engine was off and it was dead quiet outside, but I would hear very faint 'buzzes' coming from behind different parts of the dashboard every so often, almost like tiny electric motors were adjusting the airflow to different vents (even though the blower was off as well) Not heard any strange noises when opening/closing the doors though.

Sort of like a tssssss sound coming from underneath? I hear it too when opening any door. Reminds me of an old lincoln, how they used to pump air into the suspension when the car was unlocked. And then they released the air when it was locked again.
It does sound like air but the suspension is oil based.. Is it? |

After hearing grinds and thuds from the 520d for 3 years and moans and groans from the 330d for another 3 years, I've grown accustomed to not even noticing it!
Only other people notice it on the odd occasion. Not had anybody mention it in the F30 yet but 1 or 2 folk passed comment in the E60 and E90. "What's it doing?" "I have no idea" "Shouldn't you get it checked out?" "Nah, it knows what it's doing..."
