335d re-map and first service?

1st service is due in 4k ish miles and im still hungry for more power from either a DMS or CAA re-map... i have heard BMW cannot tell whether the car has had its engine map altered?! is this true?

also cant bmw even tho they dont know its been mapped still re-flash it back to stock? then it would seem a waste of money after just laying out some wedge for a performance gain which is no longer there?!

also surely when they take the car for a spin, they will tell its alot quicker than standard no? and raise questions over the originality of your car?

last question is,

A) do i wait untill after the first service
B) go ahead as there is nothing to worry about

thanks

Carlos

Dont think they can tell if its had a remap unless they luck in2 it further, i think they can check how much power and torque the car has been putting out though.
Most companys who remap will come out again if bmw puts the ecu back to stock with no extra charge.
I would go it, u'll love the extra power.

I had my previous car, 330cd, remapped by DMS and it went in for an oil service when it was due and I had no problems with the Dealer; they never asked any questions.

BMW test drive after servicing and I would think any BMW tec would know a standard 335 to a remapped one.

At least if they put it back to stock DMS will remap it for free

Since they get your business (ie repeat servicing) and BMW UK pays them for any warranty work, where is the incentive for them to grass you up?

If this does present a problem I'd imagine someone would have heard of it by now amongst all the remappers out there. Since no-one has come forward and said "oooh what about the story of shane and his invalidated warranty" I suspect there never has been such a case
