BMC Filter Cleaning?

Hi Guys

I have a BMC drop in filter and I think it is time to clean it as it has done nearly 10k miles. Question is can I just get the K&N or Pipercross cleaner kit from Halfords like this or do I need to use the specific BMC filter cleaning kit?

they use the orignal one as you dont want to cause any unknown oiling issues later.
i have one for sale if you need one, only uses once.
