Okay I don't wanna make a big issue about this or anything but I'm on my way home from work tonight and a 545 is infront of me sounded like he had at least a exhaust on it but the mufflers were stock looking(maybe a hole in the exhaust or something i dunno lol) anyways he's like driving a asshole infront of me I don't think anything of it...we come to a light I'm still behind him and he does a quick stop n go acceleration when the light turns green...so I just finished my cig and think ok whatever were both about to turn onto the highway so I'll have some fun with him for a second...we both turn onto the ramp I'm at 3rd gear maybe around 50mph not on his bumper but close enough finally we merge onto the highway and punch it at pretty much the sametime and he pretty much ate my 3rd gear and by the time I hit 100ish I cut it off in my eyes I got
Chewed up lol my car is BONE STOCK btw now....

My question to u guys is the 06-07 545i that much faster than my 335i can my car not handle that V8 or would I have a better chance if I was to Race one from
a stop?? Anyways this just made me wanna do some performance mods

i raced my friends 05 545i from a roll on the highway about 3 months ago, my car had JB+ DCI, and one passenger he was stock and no passenger i destroyed him..

yes if were talking about all the way to 155MPH but in the quarter mile 335i might be a little bit faster.

Stock for stock, a 335i should be a little faster. C&D has the 545i at 14.1@103 in the quarter, 335i at 13.6@105.

545 was from 04-06. 07+ is a 550. I had an 04 545 6 speed and it was just as fast as a stock 335. The autos were a bit slower.

That's not a little faster...in drag timage that's a mountain.

At those speeds the cars performances are close enough that a better driver will pull away. If the other guy was even 1 second quicker on the throttle it will seem like he blew you away.

In a real drag race, I'd agree, but in the OP's case (freeway speeds from a roll), the trap speed difference suggests it would be close.

I own a 645Ci, which I think may be heavier than the 545i, but via butt dyno the 335i is faster than the 6 stock.

agreed cause when we were on the ramp approaching the highway i was in the 2nd gear around 40mph which is high RPMs but i felt it wouldnt be necessary to punch it in 2nd to take him(so i thought)... so i shifted into 3rd and i was at about 40-45mph and it seemed like he was in 2nd gear high rpms( i could hear his car screaming ready to floor it) and once we did lets just say his punch hit alot harder than mine...sad mistake on my part smh at least now i know if im going from a roll i should be in 2nd lol

My brother had an '07 545i that was supercharged by ESStuning. Monster. He sold it to a dealer in Michigan a few months ago, maybe they resold it to someone in ny. Car looked bone stock.
