Leasing new 2012 335i loaded - need advice
I've never leased before. I currently have a 2011 335d ( purchased ) with very low miles ( 12k, I don't drive a ton ). It has the premium package, and I always regretted not getting idrive/nav, etc. The dealer is willing to make the following deal:
1. $33k for trade in on the 335d 2. $53,720 msrp on the 335i has the following options: Black Sapphire Metallic / Leather Black Dakota with red highlights Sport Line M Adaptive Suspension Premium Package Premium Sound Package Technology Package (Includes Head-Up Display) Sport Automatic Transmission Split Fold Down Seats BMW Assist With Enhanced Bluetooth BMW Apps 3. The residual on this vehicle is 59% 4. the MF is .001500 This puts my payments around $750/mo ( we have 7% tax ) For you experienced lease masters...does this sound like a reasonable deal? I have good credit ( well over 700 ). Link to the car: http://www.opbmw.com/VehicleDetails/...-FL/1803364613 The features I listed are correct...some of the description on the site is incorrect. One of the most important things to focus on when leasing is the cap cost, or selling price. You need to treat negotiating a lease just like purchasing. The basic concept is the same. You're basically financing a percentage of the vehicle (the depreciation) plus interest (the money factor). Don't focus on the monthly payment, or you will lose.
So the best way to see if you have a good deal is to know what the selling price is.

My personal opinion, with the exception of very limited production vehicles, then buying a car at MSRP is never a good deal. They may be padding your trade in value with some discount, but if it was me, I'd walk and find a dealer that will work more cooperatively with you.

The 2013's are out - they want to get rid of the 2012's....DO NOT pay MSRP for it....Check out the financing specials they are offering on bmwusa.com. They are currently offering $1000 options bonus plus $750 loyalty cash (for purchases) -- you should be able to get them to do at least that on your lease. I recently leased a 2012 335i coupe, and they had similar incentives running, the sticker was $56,xxx and they came down to $51,xxx after haggling...

After doing some more research, looks like this car invoices for just over $50k. Will push for invoice, will settle for $51500 at most I think. Dunno if I can get them lower. Will try again today.

+1 I would definitely push for as close to invoice as possible...its a 12 and all the 13s are in now.

Why get rid of a 335d that's 2011 MY? It's supposed to be a decent car.
imho it's your money but why waste it? Yes, we all prefer this and that, but compromise is not always a bad thing if it avoids putting 15k in a plastic bag and throwing it out the window on the freeway..... |

...the reason for doing this is that the 2012 is basically 1 year old now and worth less....doesn't matter to you because you are leasing. I got about $8,000 off mine at this time of year. Dealing with a trade is different because you are dealing with "difference" but thats what your lease is based on so guys above are correct. get a price or two elsewhere. They NEED to get rid of 2012s.
