FOR SALE: 2007 BMW 328i COUPE(READ)

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
Hello this is from Houston, Texas.

I am selling my 2007 328i Coupe
Jet Black Exterior
Saddle Brown Interior
Approx 5000 miles and still in amazing looking and driving condition.
Premium Package
Sports Package
Park Distance control
Comfort access

If anyone has read my previous post, my father has a real bad illness, CJD, and I got this car on order in November and thats when the disease really started to come out of no where and act up and take control. Since then I have barely been in the country as we have been looking for cures. I obviously can't afford this now and I love the car and have had no problems what so ever, but family is first priority and i have to go another direction for now atleast. I will put up pictures later tonight. I am hoping to start getting feelers. I am ready to sell with the right offer.

Also, this car was babied as it was my first bmw I went by the book on everything and even little things like only filled it up with Shell V-power, garage kept. I wanted to make it last and I had planned to but life takes its own turns

I looked on edmonds.com which says I can private sale for aroudn 39 and then my CA at bmw said its a hot ride right now down here and I could aroudn there. but I am taking all offers which I replied to you as well. Retail for this car is 42k+. it only has 5000 miles

Retail on it was 42k, invoice is 38,500. its used and has 5000 miles.

Its trade-in value is about 30-32k currently, so i'd be willing to offer 34-35k max for it.

lol.. of corse you would.. but e92's arent depreciating 10k of retail with just 5,000 miles.. this is not a chevy malibu... to the OP, good luck with the sale.. i would think 4-5k less than MSRP is a fair price..

there are several dealers in our area with used e92's with around 7-10k miles, discounted no more than $2500 off msrp.. this might change a lil bit once the 08's are out, but not by much...

I disagree with the 4-5k off MSRP figure.
First, no 328 is sold at MSRP. If the car MSRP'd for $42k, I doubt it is worth more than $35-36k with 5k miles on it...
The car is purely depreciating asset, especially a year or less old one...

Here is a scenario:
the coupe's (335 or 328's go for close to MSRP.. this is not the sedan which is widely available right now, even i had to order my car)

MSRP -42k
purchased for: 41k (if you are lucky)
drive for 5000 miles over a few months.. and sell for more than 5k less?? depreciation is not $1 per mile, especially on a new hard to find vehicle.

I tried buying a used coupe before i ordered, and no dealer was willing to discount a used one more than 2,500 dollars (and all had more than 7k miles on them). Of-corse, that is the reason i decided to buy new instead.. and obviously this will change as these cars become more widely available, but that has not happenned yet. Anyway, so lets say the depreciation is 5k at best.. that would bring the price down to 36k.. which is a good deal. Though i doubt you will find one discounted that much with that low of mileage.. We always want to low ball used car prices and thats all fine, but it aint realistic for this car at the moment.

I dont know where you guys are getting your numbers, but here in SoCal, E92's can be picked up for 500-750 over invoice along with the e90 sedans.

Nonetheless, good luck with yoru sale.

Some people just believe what the dealer tells them, in which they always say cars are in short supply and demands are high, all that bs...I called up Shelly BMW yestereday and talked to the internet sales guy and he actually dare to tell me that they don't have enough 328i sedan to sell even though they have over 90 of them in stock...Some people just need to be more educated when it comes to car shopping and stop believing what the stealership is saying....the lowest i've heard is sedan is 100 over invoice and coupe is 700 to 900 over invoice at most..good luck on your sale buddy..

I think east coast is a bit different in stockage of coupes @ the moment.. trust me, i couldnt find a single manual tranny 328 coupe within 250 miles of washington dc just 2 months ago... so i had to order.

Oh, sorry, I didn't realize he's a dealer...
OF COURSE the dealer will charge you more than if you buy on the street. If the dealer ASKS for $2500 off, that means that on the streat should be asked at least 4-5k off....

Oh, and Houston is now east coast, too
My local Dallas dealer has quite a few of the 328 Coupes in the stock...

In any case, it is a beautiful car, and good luch with the sale!

Good luck with the sale..
The value of your car has depreciated the moment you drove it out of the dealer.. Regardless of how many miles you have..
Coupes may have been hard to find two months ago, but 328s are easier to find these days..
