issues with 335i's
so my brother in law has always talked shit about bmws and my 328i. he owns a g6 and i rapped him with my 328i lol. but he would still say its a piece of shit although i dont care about performance my car has always been stock as his has a bit of mods.
He keeps on telling me and showing me videos on how the car he is going to upgrade to a g8 gxp rapes a 335i, but i have so much faith in bmw and the 335i lol, i havent been able to find one beating a g8 . anyways have any of you ever raced one before? beat it? inputs? lol Sorry for the waste of time Last edited by Hunter51092; 10-20-2012 at 01:13 AM.. |

O... N... T... I... A... C... Your brother in law is obviously an idiot. The G6 is such a miserable car; I know, I owned one. Before arguing with him again practice by arguing with a wall. The G8 GXP has the LS3 6.2, its fast. The 335 is a luxo-sport car that is tuneable because of the turbos, its not the end-all-be-all this forum makes it out to be. LS engines are superior for tuning than the N54. A supercharged LS engine with other appropriate mods is making atleast 550hp, there are a few 1000s running around. I don't think an N54 can make more than 650 without something catching fire. But since G6s are pretty much free and G8 GXPs are all in the low 30s, how does he expect to pay for it? A credit score in the 500s can only take you as far as the bus stop. Last edited by ndog14; 10-20-2012 at 01:36 AM.. |

Your brother in law can mod/tune/whatever he wants to his Pontiac and it'll still look like a POS. I say you visit some G6 forums and look at how they mod their cars. I bet you that nothing will look close to the modded cars in the forum. Different cars, different taste and you're on the right side of the track my friend.

i raced a pontiac G8 on the highway at the begining of summer. From a 70MPH roll to about 140. Several runs, i was pulling on him everytime. I only had JB+ and DCI. it was pretty funny i thought. theres a video of stock VS stock i found below.

This all goes back to is it about the driving experience, or having the best numbers?
It's the megapixel conundrum, where man, going back to his caveman roots, wants a single number by which to the determine goodness of an entity. G8 = 361 328 = 230 361>230 so G8 wins! There is nothing more that needs to be considered, other than those two numbers. That's how simple it really is. |

Personally I think the G8 is a nice looking car, especially in GT or GXP trim. I can't wait for Chevy to release their version of the car pretty soon. But anyway, 335i vs G8 (GT/GXP)? Tune only-335i will romp the Pontiac any day of the week. |

I drove a G8 (rental from Ottawa Airport) few years ago. It was superfast but very very unrefined.
G6 are an absolute POS.

I dont think you will find to many GXP's to race, their were something like 1800 made only in 09. I was looking into them b4 I bought my 335. The GXP has a 6.2 liter 420hp while the regular g8 v8 has a 6.0 liter 360hp engine. Motor Trend said the GXP reminded them of the 2000-2005 BMW M5 and runs something like 0-60 in 4.5ish and thats bone stock. I think their pretty bad ass.

Most of you are just... wow. OP is talking about the 425hp LS3 6.2L V8 G8 GXP. Stock to stock, a 335 will lose. Modded. It depends on the budget. If the budget is high enough for a supercharger, the G8 GXP > 335 every time.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=480025 Same as LS1 engine supercharged. LS3 supercharged are pushing well over 600. Let's not even get into twin turboing LS engines. We'll be beating a dead horse. |
