Thoughts on Shell V-power

So, while driving home last night, my fuel reserve light came on and I had to find a station fast. I got off the highway and found a shell.

Now, since day one with my 335, I have always used 93 octane. Call it being crazy, I just don't really feel comfortable using anything else. I was always under the impression the a forced induction car should run on the highest octane possible.

Back to the story. I filled up on V-power ( at $4.79!). I noticed that after I got home, my distance to the next fill up was 450 miles. I honestly don't think that I've seen those kind of numbers with any other gas. I usually use Sunoco 93. I feel that on a road trip, one could get closer to 500 miles on a tank.

Anyone else experience these kind of numbers?

That's very impressive. I'd love to see what the new 328 could do.

I use V-Power exclusively and it works fine for me. It's one of the products recommended by BMW.

We have higher octane available here, but they are ethanol blends, which I want nothing to do with.

Five years of ownership, I've only filled up with shell v-power. Here in N.j, $3.95 a gallon.

Good to know. I'll keep an eye out for it from now on. Here in the states (at least in NY), all of our octanes have 10% ethanol blended. Not sure about diesel.

My first year, I was putting in any premium. Car eventually needed a fuel injector cleaning. After that, top tier gas only, which means Shell for the most part here in Florida. Car runs strong ever since.

I only use Shell V-Power 91 because it contains no ethanol.

Seems like it is the best. Just took the car out for short ride around the neighborhood and the car felt noticeably smoother. Maybe there is more to this stuff than I originally thought......

99% is quiktrip. Always saw commercials for shell but figured it was overrated. Didn't think it was worth it until today will fill up there next time!

Serious rip off on the cost though, V-Power usually isn't any more than 93 anywhere else - paying like low 4's here in Boston, like $4.25 maybe last I filled.
