Be wary of...

I was parked below a tree the other day.. a branch and one of those dam pine cones or something fell on my car.. Just noticed the severity of damage it did to the clear coat left some nasty scratches.

I managed to repair it to 98% can barely see it without using a magnifying class. Spend like 2 hours repairing it had to do the whole prep polish wax and clay on one of the panels.. Awesome way to start the weekend

So take care when parking under trees

Garage List
Avoid trees like the plague. Apart from pine cones, given gravity can be a harsh mistress you risk wearing bird shat and sap. All of which can make your paint suffer if not removed ASAP.

Fortunately only clear coat damage, not actual panel dent damage. Could have been a lot worse, especially having a branch fall on your car. We can't always choose exactly where we park.

Glad you have it (pretty much) sorted.

I've got to be more wary of pot holes or something, scratched my back left rim some how, when I park it's never near gutters, does anyone know of a (preferably mobile) wheel repairer in Melbourne that you've used and is good?

Wheel Fix It. He came to my office and attended to the alloys on my E90 just prior to selling it. Great job done.

Oh yeah!!!! I now park 'near' gutters like someone who cannot park close to gutters. Not too far out of course, but well clear of them.

Ok bugger, apparantly Sport line wheels need to be either machined - which will make it look different - or touched up (for a "85% looking job").
I wonder how much BMW spare parts charge for a new rim, online overseas they're about $380 (plus shipping which is about 250 alone).

Curb/kerb/gutter wheel airbags are in order. Now, how to integrate invisibly them into each wheel…….
