Bluetooth problems with my iPhone 4s

I have an intermittent problem with my iPhone 4s (on iOS 6.1). The car and phone pair perfectly, all contact show, etc. But when I place or receive a call:

1. the audio doesn't "transfer" to the car
2. my music (radio/cd/USB) continues to play (typically it mutes)
3. the call routes to the iPhone as if I answered using the phone
4. my iDrive shows that there is an active call, and I can hang up the call, etc. from the iDrive
5. when I select Sources from my iPhone, my BMW shows up in the list (BMW, iPhone, Speaker), but BMW is not selectable

So this is either an iPhone issue or the car's bluetooth module. I just restored my iPhone from a back up and will try later today, but I wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue.

No, it happened again recently and I restored the phone, then pulled my last backup from iCloud. Everything synced up perfectly the next time I used the car. I'm leaning toward it being the iPhone/iOS.

I have no real fix for this - sorry.

Any progress on this?

I am at least the third with this problem. It occurs intermittently. I noticed the battery tends to be below 60%, but plugging in car DC for a recharge does not fix it. I often have to turn off the car and restart resetting the blue tooth to the phone. Just upgraded to the newest iPhone OS today (6.1.2). Hoping this might fix it. Doubt it. Have cleared and reset the Bluetooth recognition between the two. Also have tried to select on the phone the bmw speakers option. Will not select during the problem.

I have the same issue. I can't manage with it. But then I ditch the iphone, get an Android and upgrade IOS higher. It runs now.

Had the exact same problem with my 4S. I recently got the 5 and haven't had problems yet, don't know if coincidence or not?
