About a mile before the on ramp to the highway some kid in a SUBARU LEGACY raced up next to me and swerved in front of me where it turned to one lane.
Then we get to the on ramp and hes, what i can only guess, is Matted going no where trying to take off away from me as if he was gonna show me just how much faster than I he was.
It was pretty comical. Anyways, long story short paddle shifted down into m mode and ripped past him as if he was sitting still.

Anyone else have any funny storys about people trying to "race" you in something that is more sad than funny?
Happens to me all the time.

Shocking behavior in New Hampshire (is that where you are?) Usually when I go to New Hampshire drivers are so much more courteous and decent. I dread the tri-state area in comparison.

I am constantly bewildered by the people FLOORING their mini vans and 91 Camrys on the highway, speeding past everyone and totally oblivious to the cars around them. Their cars must be barely hanging on for dear life -- I mean, they must be pushing redline, doing 95+ in a 20 year-old rusted sedan. And it's usually little old ladies, too, which is even weirder.

I do have a fairly funny story, though. A few months back I saw a car weaving in and out of traffic to get right on my bumper. He stayed an inch from my tail for a little while and then tried to whip past me right before we hit a red light. I looked over when I heard him trying to rev, and -- no shit -- it was a Kia Spectra. I calmly accelerated when the light turned green and he actually tried to launch that poor car. I remain a little confused by the whole situation, but I am fairly certain he was legitimately trying to race me in his Kia.

LOL, I couldn't agree with you more....these Texan drivers I swear. No joke about minivan drivers (especially... and not to be racist okay, but especially Indian drivers around here) race off and are so oblivious when it comes to 'rules of the road'. Another thing I can't stand is almost every time I'm about to overpass a car especially on the right lane (aka left lane hoggers), they just have a tendency to lean over the lane markers as I get about mid-way to their car. Seriously? I'm about to the do the PIT maneuver then... SMH. I need to install a GoPro or something to record the number of ridiculous drivers I come across EVERY day around here.

I get this everyday around here. worst part is, they are usually trucks with one off centered stack. i had a powerjoke try the other day coming off and on ramp. i simply showed him it was a stupid idea the continued to cruise at 7. then he cam flying up on me in congested traffic so rather than let him even chance it with my car i weaved in and out and got to my exit ramp only too see this joker nearly rolling his truck with all the body roll of trying to get through traffic the same! seriously can he not see the difference between a lowered performance machine and his off road heap?

Agreed, living in NH most people are pretty thoughtful drivers. I live 20 min from Mass.
So its usually just people from Methuen or Lawrence in honda civics.
I mean. I can see why they would try and race around me, That Things a V-Tech. Haha

I usually drive pretty slow and don't like people speeding past me because it is a very unsafe way of driving. Thats why I keep my 9mm under my drivers seat and use it to shoot out a back tire and sit back and watch them flip down the highway after they lose control.

I live in Houston and it has the dumbest drivers in my opinion. I drive the speed limit and in the right lane.i don't speed because I figure, why rush? Well I guess my car makes others mad for some reason but people try to race me all the time. I don't give in because I could care less. They'll drive along side and rev their engines or they'll tail me when the left lane is clearly open. It's just sad how everyone feels like they have something to prove.

Yeah I remember years ago driving in NH like I normally drive in NYC, and this woman shouts and screams at me saying this is New England, that they stop for pedestrians.

I can't tell you how badly we need stop sign cams yesterday. I'm making a left turn where I do not have a stop sign, and this woman blows hers like it's not even there. I go back to the same intersection later in the day and another woman does the same thing. maybe nothing is going to get people to stop rolling stop signs, but it would be nice for them to get a $200 ticket in the mail anyway.

When my '07 was brand new, there was a hopped-up Hyundai Accent next to me at a light. When the light turned green, the Hyundai took off with tires screeching, and was soon doing what looked like 60 in a 35. I just left the stop light normally thinking, was I supposed to race this fool?

My story is probably the funniest story ever. I am driving on the highway going to downtown Chicago. I am cruising at like 75mph and this S2K pulls up to me drops gears and holds it inching his car for me to race. I just kept it calm and he went anyways and idiot guy almost missed his exit. He went on the gravel to catch the exit he spun 3 times got air and went into a ditch.

I couldn't stop laughing. This is what happens when you illegal switch over 2 lanes and to try to catch a damn exit.
