What size are the hood emblems? 82mm? Do I have to worry if I order an "82mm hod emblem" ff eBay if it will fit my e90? Are like older BMW emblems different sizes?

Are you sure it's an OEM emblem? Have you ever had the hood replaced? The ebay emblems fly off but not the OEM ones...

Do not waste your money on ebay ones. They're cheap crap that eventually fly off. Pony up for the OEM ones. I got some ebay ones for my e30 and they were complete crap.

Hilarious order the emblem and pop it in, its really simple, no glue needed, has 2 plugs in the back, tape up a flat head screwdriver, pop out the old one, you should have just paint now and 2 holes in your hood, pop the new one in, done.

I doubt it was a OEM emblem if there is any glue there, its not a glued part.

The whole badge did not come off, the metal part is still on there, it is the plastic cover overlay that came flying off. It has been extremely cold in the northeast lately.

Hey look on the bright side, at least it didn't fly into your windshield and obliterate it.

I had the exact same thing happen on my old e92. just the top flew off and left the chrome piece with yellow glue attatched to the hood. At first i thought some jackass might have did it on purpose but now it seems like this is more common than i thought

I still suspect that the badge was not original. The original emblem is pretty solid unlike the fake aftermarket ones.

That is your oem emblem. The thing that flew off was just the plastic part with the bmw design on there. Your emblem just came apart. You'll have to pull that piece off and replace the entire thing.

I find it hard to believe because When I wanted to change the hood emblem I've tried removing it with a screw driver and woulden't come off. So I pulled so hard that I broke it. Good thing that I wanted to change it.
