here's a little write up i promised i would post up once it arrived. my car didn't come with idrive; so the ol' lady got me a garmin this past xmas. the one thing i hate more than spinners & justin bieber are things you have to suction cup to the windshield.

this thing takes up so much space and blocks so much of my viewing when going around left turns.

anyways, here's my short write up. Steelies. $12. Made to mount anything, from the iphone to a gps screen. benefits, very low profile, strong magnet and the "ball" allowing you to rotate and swivel with the power of the magnet to hold virtually any viewing angle.

here's the box, packaging was very nice and tight.


here's the steelie w/ the flat magnet slapped on. the steelie is quite dense and heavy, has a lot of "rigidity" to it. really nice quality.

another brief update: myself along with 3 others have formed a small, tight knit team to push towards merging fashion, cars, and the dance world, all of which we have some sort of connection with and the means to bring them together. our shops grand opening was the first kick off and ended up being a very successful event.

yesterday we spent the entire day at BMW's facility, brought in a few of our cars from Carrozzeria Carbon's shop, a couple models, and some RichKids Brand gear (local seattle based company). I had the pleasure to snap the still shots while our super talented videographer, Landin Williams, created some AMAZING video footage. We'll be releasing the video & pictures from the shoot next Monday hopefully.

this video/photo shoot is a glimpse into our project to merge these worlds as a collaborative effort. They will be used as material for various websites and future Carrozzeria x Rich Kids Brand Events this spring and summer. For now, here's a first snapshoot i finished last night. Taken i our Carrozzeria ESS Supercharged M3, thanks e90post fam! til then...

If my E90 didn't come with idrive, that setup is how I'd mount my tomtom. Looks great and very clean. Love the low profile look to the steelies. Does the joint hold its position well over bumps and vibrations?

yea, the magnet is pretty freakin' solid. but i guess it also helps that the lower portion is almost resting on the leather front dash. the only gripe i have was they put the weakest double sided sticky known to man on it. i'll be going to the shop today and slapping some heavy duty 3M on it instead.

thanks! yea we are running with it and have a lot in store. can't wait to see this all come together and how the 3 demographics meld together.

and the lady is a good friend of mine, she's a hair/make up stylist but we thought she fit the look. the brand never wants crazy super models who draw focus away from the clothing, someone who's naturally beautiful. thought she fit the bill

thanks. its actually a knock off of the original "steelie" which i think goes for $40, this one was $12, but thought, what they heck why not. definitely worth the money, really heavy and well built.

yea she's a hair and makeup stylist, but we told her to back off on the makeup as we need the clothes front and center, not drawn away by too much glitz and glamour.

but we do have another shoot coming up here this sunday, with this gal and potentially a ferrari 458 or something exotic of the sort. this one will definitely be more "glitzy"

Also can we get a pic of how you mounted the ball on the dash, trying to figure out whether you mounted it on top of the dash or on the small vertical part above the air vents.

i mounted it on the very edge of the top dash, closest to the driver if that makes sense,
