Style 162 wheels...

Actually for some reason these wheels in Canada are expensive.
I called the dealership parts dept and asked that I want to buy style 162 wheels with run-flats.
These are the prices.
4 x 18"wheels = $2850 cdn = $2410 us.
4 run-flats = $2120 cdn = $1790 us.
For a grand total of $4970 cdn and $4200 us.
Can someone say "OUCH".
So when e90drifter is selling the whole shebang for $2400 cdn,
($2040 us), that is a GREAT bargain, Half price.
Can a few of you American E90 neighbors see what your dealer is selling these wheels with run-flats for?
Intersted to see the difference.

No it doesnt . Good try though...

$1400 for wheels at www.bmwwheels.com

about $1k for Bridgestone RF performance tires at tirerack.com

$100 for your local shop to mount and balance them.

2.5k USD almost exactly... And that is for brand new wheels and tires that have never seen the road. Take offs are going to be much less.

as per my last post, you can have the package for about 2.5k USD. Find someone in the US that will buy them for you here, and make a trip down to pick them up. That should save you a few bucks...

I ended up getting mine with tires at about 2k. I chose not to go with RF tires, and that saved me a bunch of money.

No. Got a fix-a-flat system instead. No room for a spare in the trunk

Hello,

I thought that you can get the Wheels and the Run Flat tires on BMWWHEELS.com for about $1,437 USD....please someone confirm or prove that I am wrong....

-When looking on that site some wheels say wheels only and some say Price with Run Flat tires and for the 162 Style Rims thae Price says with Run Flat tires.....

Please look at the site again and read carefully and let me know....

Thank You.

If I get a flat....I'll just call my Insurance AAA....and have them flatbed my car to my house or to the nearest tire store....within a 100 miles radius.......and up to 3 times a year! Again.........who needs run-flats!

What happens when you are out in the middle of nowhere? What happens if you are in a dead cell coverage area? What happens if the tow company doesn't have a flatbed available for hours?

Chance favors the prepared...

Exactly! what happens if you get a blow-out?? Those "Slime" fix it systems only work for minor punctures...At least you can still drive with the run-flats for 50 miles. Remember that story some years ago - Bill Cosby's son was murdered while trying to fix a flat tire on the 405 freeway. Granted that he was out late, I still travel that freeway every week. who knows, run-flats could have saved his life! At least with runflats, I know that I will be safe driving to my destination.

dencoop, I thought the same thing you did - but they only come with the rims. bavarian can confirm this - that's where he got his. I was ready to get those rims but when I found out the tires are sold separately....

Requesting and receiving are two totally different things. My first BMW became a bit of a 'project' car (with a bunch of TC Kline parts on it and a supercharger) and it broke down 3-4 times on me. I "Requested" a flat bed from AAA and usually got sweet fuck all.

Yea... It is a minor issue because, by law, every vehicle comes equipped with a means to replace or temporarily fix a flat tire.

Perhaps it doesn't help that I live in Oregon where we have some of the most mindblowing roads of all time, but they are far far away from a service station and cell phone coverage.
