Where to paint calipers?
been trying to fine a place for a while now with no luck..
anyone know a place where they do a good job of caliper painting in the Gold Coast/ Brisbane area? I cant really afford Brembos, but I dont want a cheap job either looking to get it done as I get some new rims.. Also, anyone know how long the stock tyres last? Im waiting for them to wear out to get the best bang for the buck (yeah, im a true tightarse)..

You can try to do it at home. newspaper the splash guard all around. electric tape the start of the hose, wrap the hose line with newspaper or more tape, newspaper the pad area
scrub the caliper with a brass brush and engine cleaner, prime 1 coat, colour 2 coat |

My detailer did the calipers on his old Golf GTD - I'll ask him for you and let you know.
What colour were you thinking of? |

NBU he's quoted me at $75 per wheel plus the cost of the paint. Takes his time and applies 3 to 4 coats of paint and heat proofing to each caliper.
The idea of coloured calipers is working it's way around my head now too after looking into this for you, just not sure which way I'd go colour-wise. I've given up on the idea of the M Perf brake kit (for now) because the stock kit is actually a lot better than I gave it credit for initially (read: I'd rather spend the money on a skiing trip in August). If it had a price reduction I'd probably pull the pin on it and get it with either the orange or yellow calipers. |
