Wax in rock chips

Okay, so this is a stupid problem but it IS a problem that will require at least a temporary fix unless anyone has a good idea beyond repainting the front end.

Its almost impossible to drive in AZ for any length of time without picking up rock chips on your front end. Ive now had my EBII 328I for a bit over 2 months and was planning on getting clear bra applied soon. I knew id picked up a few chips but didn't think it was bad because I couldn't really SEE any. Today, I decided to throw a coat of wax on the car and noticed a CRAP LOAD of rock chips which are now visible because they have white wax in them!!!

there are so many that I just might have to re-spray the front end but if there are other options, i'm listening. (this is a leased car so in the end, i'm not THAT worried about them except that I'm only 2 months in and this will drive me batshit crazy.)

I had already planned to add the M-Sport front splitter so I know that it would cover up MOST or whats going on on the lower wings but i'll still KNOW they are there..... Thoughts?

Don't use white wax. Use pure carnauba. No white marks...

soft bristle toothbrush?

Chips are inevitable. Clear bra's typically are ugly. I've seen many of them including 3M and Sungard (yes, Sungard/Madico actually has an excellent clear bra self healing material) but I can't stand the look of the clear material added to the car. IMO, you'd have to do the bumper, front fenders and entire hood in order for it to look OK. Expensive to do right. And then you need to change it out when it gets marked up. Its a lose-lose!

It'll come out over time with washing. Or you could accelerate it by washing with a terrycloth towel and a hint of elbow grease. It's no harder to remove than the wax that was on the rest of the paint. You just need to use something with enough of a nap to get in the nooks and crannies.

clay bar might do the trick... I'm really more annoyed than anything. Luckily I have a good detail guy that doesn't charge me an arm and a leg so I'll take it to him tomorrow and will order my M-Sport Lip spoiler ASAP!

Yeah, i was on the fence about clear bra but considered doing it in matte clear to reduce the shine....

I've seen gloss, matte, couldn't stomach any of them.

I am getting chips in the front also. When the paint chips on alpine white...it shows the black plastic. Maybe I will use white wax!
