Purchased a never-installed Procede from friend. Couple questions..

how can I check which version of software is on the system? Obviously it's not v2.0, but is there a way I can make sure it's 1.47?

Also, do you guys think I should just wait for v2.0 before installing or should i install it w/ v1.47 and then upgrade when i get the 2.0 (which i ordered today)? I don't think i'm going to be one of the guys getting the first batch, so who knows when i will get my upgrade.

Thanks for your input.

there should be a paper in the same bag as the fuse jumper and coupler. this paper will tell you the version your running. You should install it asap, and get used to the new power. The car is amazing with 1.47, i can only imagine what 2.0 will be like.

Not to jack the thread, but I also have the 1.47 in a box and a v2.0 ordered. If I was to install this now...how do I make the thing wireless so I dont have to take the thing apart every time I want upgraded software? Is there a slick solution for this? Can I use a serial/bluetooth adapter without problems?

Another stupid question...is the PROceed software PC only? I'm a MAC based designer guy. Might need to setup a dual boot machine huh?

Thanks and good luck on your install too!

Yes it is PC only. I'm a Mac user and ran the Vishnu PC software on a MacBook using Parallels to operate the Windows OS. There is a newer software like Parallels that is getting good reviews at the apple store site by the way.

I could not tell what version was on mine when I plugged it into the PC, it does't really say anywhere I could find, so best thing to do it just reload it with the version you want so you know for sure!

USCTrojan, are you coming to Nebraska to see the game in a couple weeks?

If so, I could help you with the install after Nebraska beats USC (yes, a little wishful thinking on my part!)

I have a Mac laptop and I use Virtual PC to run the Procede update software. Works perfectly.

Thats great news...I am going to set up parallels here in the next day or two. One more question...has anyone tried using the MAC running Windows with a Bluetooth/Serial adapter to do this whole thing wireless? That would be the trick setup for sure.

I thought about it, but it is easy enough just to plug the cable into the Procede. It would be great for data tracking though. I'm not aware of anyone wirelessly synching with the Procede through a Mac, but Eugene has a full wireless set up for his PC. In fact, I think he is selling it now and started a thread. It would work in the same vein for the Mac running a windows os.

Thanks for the details. Can you please post the link for Eugene's thread on wireless syncing or at least help me find him! I have used the search feature with no luck. I will definitely post results when I am up and operational. Cheers.
