I need a Favour please

I've tried the 6er forums, but without much feedback.

Would someone please try the following with their cars heating system.

Switch to AUTO

Turn OFF aircon

Set both duel zone temperature controls to the coldest setting

Give it a moment and check to see if warm air is coming out of the lower footwell vents.

The outside temperature needs to be about +5 to +10 degrees.

The reason for my question is that my car blows warm air at these above settings and I feel it shouldn't. I've just had the heater control valve replaced and nothings changed

No it should not blow warm air. The air should be as cold as the system can get it so without the compressor running that will be the outside (ambient) temperature. Sounds like the blending flap actuator is blending warm air all the time - nothing to do with the HCV.

Maybe - but that *might* be the flap that simply controls if there is any air to the footwell at all, rather than blending. If you turn the air to the windscreen does all airflow stop in the footwell?

Not tried that, but will on the way home. Are you thinking if air still going to the footwell the flaps are stuck open?

I'll also see in the passenger side footwell is the same as the drivers.

I'd say if air (whatever temp) is being pumped into the footwell(s) when the system is set to windscreen or face-level then you have a problem with No. 7....
