Question Any DIY fix for Side skirt rattles?

I've seen a few members post talking about how the side skirts rattle when listening to music with bass. I didn't realize mine was doing until today when standing outside paying for parking while the car was still running. When I got back to the car I look my leg and pushed against the side skirt and music sound a lot better from outside all of a sudden. I was wondering if anyone has a DIY fix for this, or if took back to dealer, what did they do?

Thanks...

I have an m-sport if that matters.

Are you talking about the M-Sport Rocker panels or the blades?

Ehh, turn down the bass.. Only thing you can do. Or turn it up, and you won't hear the rattle anymore.

Was kidding.. Really nothing you can do if you want the bass. If not the skirts, something else will rattle.

Let me give some feedback from someone actually taking the matter seriously.

I had the same problem, thing is after a while the noise was so loud you could hear it from the inside aswell. The solution is simple but you might need new bindings, since they are likely to break once you remove the skirt and place some soft-side velcro strips through 4 or 3 points on each side where the skirt touches the chassis ( identify and mark these spots by pushing on random places while playing music )

Btw dealer did it for free but had to order the bindings in advance, took them 3 weeks to get here.

I can tell you right now it solves 95% of the rattle caused by the base, and the bass actually sounds so much punchier now.

My rattle killing plan in general involved dynamat on troublesome flat surfaces between interior/exterior panels.

I just recently installed MSPort Side skirts on my base model. I havent noticed the rattle but I do notice that the side skirts dont seem as secure as I thought they would be, mainly in the back near the edge of the passenger doors towards the wheel well. Would anyone be kind enough to take pictures of that area so that I can compare them to mine. I have yet to see a parked M Sport that I could look at. Thnks

Took these over a month ago when i noticed that the left panel seemed to have a bigger gap. It also makes more sound than the other.

Maybe u find them interesting.

Not sure if this applies (pun intended) but my license plate would rattle so I gave it a try. Worked like a charm. Make a little ball, enough to go between the two surfaces, insert, apply pressure, rattle gone. Yep, just another use for Scotch adhesive putty.
