Can someone confirm that price?
So today i went to my local body shop and asked for an estimate to paint the front splitter/lip i want to order from ebay and i was kinda surprised as what he told me..
he listed: 144.40 Paint Labor (3.8 Hours x 38.00/hr) 60.80 Clearcoat Labor (1.6 Hours x 38.00/hr) 76.00 Paint Supplies 32.00 Clearcoat Supplies + 18.79 Tax which sums up to 331.99$ am i wrong or is this kinda high considering the size of that part ô.o (high school student -> have to pay for mods myself) this is the ac-style lip i showed him |

150 does not cover costs and labor for a shop to do it....not worth it...
BUT.....keep shopping around until you find the right shop who is willing to help you out... smaller shops that keep a low profile sometimes will help out....it all depends on the personality of the owners, if they are busy or not...ect... JP |

I guess i'll ask my dad to help me out with his airbrush system. Does someone know where to get matching TiAg-paint for the lip? |

I highly recommend automotivetouchup.com. I've ordered three times from them (once was for Ford Windveil Blue which is notoriously hard to color match) and haven't been disappointed. They also have DIYs on the site I think.
If you're really worried about the match then you can go OEM BMW paint from paintscratch.com. About twice as expensive though. If you're going to paint it yourself just remember that it is all in the prep work. When you're tired and sore and you don't think you can possibly sand that primer again... sand it some more. ANY tiny little piece of ANYTHING is going to show up like a big red X once it's painted. |

oh, that lip is not so bad, guys......
PINeely is right about the prep work..if your dad can airbrush, and has a larger touch up gun...you can do this....just remember to get flex agent for the paint and the proper primer.... There are autobody supply houses that can help you out with the right materials and can match the paint for you....I would say you will need 1 quart.....look to spend upwards of 100.00 or so....yeah, just for the right materials its not cheap when only doing a small part like this. BUT...you will gain valuable experience, its rewarding and will look great when youre done!...despite the design of the part JP |

Just had mine painted and installed it myself. I had a close friend who works at a body shop do it. Painted it for $50 bucks, but I doubt a regular place would've done it for that price. |
