Keyless Trunk Opening

I have an F30 with the convenience pkg...auto unlocking of the doors, without using the remote fob. Does anyone have the option where the trunk opens automatically with the movement of your foot underneath the rear bumper. I'm told by my local dealer that BMW has no such thing and I thought this was part of the option pkg on my car.

you need to have the comfort access feature. So...that would be a 328 with premium pkg at least

not sure what the convenience package is? need more details about the model / pkgs

I have a 2012 328i. Yes I have the comfort access pkg. didn't quite know the right terminology. My trunk does not open as I described above.

Mine doesn't do it most of the time, either. I never know where to put my foot to open it and I always succeed in getting my pants dirty.

I have that feature and now that I have used it for some time now, I love it. Works perfectly every time. I have a 2012 335I comfort access. I believe I was told that comfort access gives you the trunk pop feature.

Is there anything in the Idrive to indicate the kick feature is on the car (some config etc) so op could check for sure before spending some time behind the car?

Endless402....Thanks for the advice!!! I tried it the way you described and it worked perfectly several times. Just like if you were trying to kick a ball....I was waving my foot around and that was not working at all. Thanks all.

I love this feature, it's like it was designed for Canadians who have to carry their hockey bag and can't reach their keys.

Yep, spot on man!

Silly question, is there a way to open the trunk from inside the car?

There are 2 release buttons one in the glove box and one directly inline with your headlight switch on the lower kick panel. You can use either one.

Glove box has a button too? I thought the glove box only had the trunk lockout.

For sure there's a button on driver side footwell kick panel. Just in front of the hood pull lever.

Funny that my SA told me this feature is not available on any BMW's. Only Ford has it. We know more about these cars than the people who sell and service them....unreal.

BMW trains and does a very good job at it. But some people (and dealers) you just can't help.

Precisely why I didn't purchase my car from their lot. The breaking point for me was the salesperson wanting my credit card before I test drove one of their F30's, secondly the same salesperson insisting a 320i was all I could afford. Then playing the game of "list price is the best we can do because the F30's are going like hotcakes"....BS. Well I walked outta there rather disgusted at their whole approach. So I went on a mission, did my own legwork, searched pretty much from coast to coast, and I'm now the proud owner of a full load 2012 F30 328i sport line. I have no other choice for service though, as this is the only dealer in Winnipeg.

At least for service (if needed) you don't have to go through the sales people.

I was impressed with the way I was treated when I left my car for a small check-up.

Yeah their service advisors don't have a clue either. I wonder if their technicians do!!! Scary just thinking about it.
