M-Performance Power Kit for 328i
...any new rumors/news on the possibility of the PPK for the 328i?
Is it a given that it will be offered? But just a question of "when"? |

For reals, I can't wait either. Will def get it once it drops. I'm sure it will be released since they have one for the 335.

I could have missed an official announcement, but I'm pretty sure it is a long shot that BMW comes out with an OEM tune for the 328....its close enough performance-wise to the 335 as it is - why would they cannibalize 335 sales?

I really hope they do though And you're paying more for the tune, and I assume along with all the other missing features of the 335i such as xenon lights, better brakes, moonroof (all standard) there's good reason to pick up a 335i

It was mentioned in an MPerformance press release within the last 6 months. It was posted by Jason if you want to search for it.

Wow, I trust it was if you say so, just surprising since - as I know you agree - the performance is already so close stock vs. stock. Will be interesting to see if there are any philosophical departures from the 335 MPPK (like for instance it not being under-rated?).
Well if there were any doubts about the N20 internals being able to handle more boost I guess that answers it ... kinda makes me wonder if I should have gone for the 328 after all.

I would also not worry much at all about N20 internals until 350whp lol. I also would not regret your 335 if it's going to be your only car.

M-Performance Kit and Engine Character
It's not just the extra HP from the M-Performance kit that I want...it's the change in character that the engine would get: more "burble," better sound, increased throttle response, etc.
In short, a tune for the enthusiast, instead of engine programming for the basic BMW buyer who may only be in it for the roundel... |

My buddy from Russia said that BMW dealerships in Moscow started selling Steinbauer kits. He installed on his wife's 320d, they seem to offer one for the 328i...

Just read an article in sydney morning herald suggesting m performance kit for 428i adds 20kw and 40nm of torque.
http://smh.drive.com.au/motor-news/b...719-2q85i.html That points to what we would enjoy from a ppk for the f30

According to one article (see above), it's due with the release of the 4 Series M-Performance upgrade kits. At least here in Australia, it's slated for Jan/Feb 2014. Could be earlier in other markets or simultaneous worldwide release.

I'm now asking myself, "do I want to pay upwards of $1200, if not $2000 for 20 killer wasps and 40 torques?" |

Then i ask "how much more kick a$$ would Sports+ be with the extra torque and kw?" ;-) If the ppk was more than $2k it might be a tougher ask, but under $2k seems to be ok if i look across the park to see what APR charges for VAG cars. Re: the comment on LCI 335i coming with a power increase... If that is true, then we do have the timing of the 328i ppk. This isn't news, but I also think the core issue of the 328i ppk Is the fact that it brings performance in line, if not better than, the current 335i.
