Best sounding exhaust for low RPMs
Looking to upgrade my exhaust. I have searched around with a lot of mixed opinions/reviews.
I want to find the best sounding exhaust at low RPMS (< 3k RPM) besides on cold starts. I currently have golf mod, but it only sounds nice on cold starts but then dies down after warm-up I was looking at the PE but lots of people say low RPMs aren't really affected. If possible, please post a sound/video clip.

At least IMO, all full exhausts sound pretty similar in terms of tone on cold start, it just depends on the total amount of "noise" (secondary cats, resonators, etc). Obviously if you delete all mufflers, cats, and resonators; it's going to be absolutely outrageous on cold start and likely extremely boomy and drone-y.

I just installed the PE 2 weeks ago, and I'm very happy with it at all RPM's. Nice growl to it when you want it without being obtrusive |

It's def one of the loudest options out there and i like it alot, but it's more boomy than anything below 3K. Just my opinion, but nothing out there makes the N54 sound all that great below 3.5K or so.

Lol ANY shop with capabilities to cut and weld can do the job. I'm sure LTMW won't even consider this a challenge lol

In my opinion, best for low end is probably the stock exhaust. best for a top end screamer is either agency power (sounds like crap everywhere else in the rpm band), vanguard, or bmw performance exhaust (slightly louder than stock everywhere in the rpm, then gets raspy/loud up top).
systems that meet in the middle include hks, ets, ae.

i had the essieman race first when i got the car, sounds (roars) when cold start and starts to scream when above 3k rpm, when idling has a very nice grumbling sound and anyone within 5m will definitely hears it.
The only thing is, there's much droning in the cabin, and this is with oem downpipes. I've sat my friend's with akra and the way the exhaust note sounded made me changed in the following week. Not too loud, some may deem it a bit soft but pleasant at low and above 3.5k u'd heard the roaring... I'd just the 1M akra d/p fitted it and the sound is just awesome, sort of makes the car feel heard. clips soon. |
