Ignition question

Does the ignition need to be upgraded as the hp goes up, or can it. Does running colder or hotter spark plugs or after market coils help with misfires or add hp
At bimmerfest their was a vendor selling after market coils(I forgot the name) that claims to increase hp and help the misfire issue, but they were like $800.00 for 6. Thanks
