Turbo break in?

Im going to pick up my car in about a half hour with my brand new warranty inserted turbos. Psyched to say the least.
My question is is there any sort of break in period on the turbos like the motor or am I good to rip on it right outa the dealership?

There's no real break in on turbos. But me personally will put a couple hundred miles on them to ensure no leaks and functionality. But if your confident in the install then by all means let them rip

Where there are bearings there is a need for break-in. Take it easy for like 200 miles, if you are tuned use the stock map for a couple of days.

Most people assume breaking in engine components means taking it easy. The problem is these newer oils reduce friction so much that the "bedding in" process for bearings and rings is prolonged sometimes to long and the Polish effect has been created before proper clearances have been formed. Most engine builders will go straight to the dyno after a rebuild or turbo install.

I remember reading that the turbos are pre-spun from the factory which means they should be broken in already.

There's a guy I work with that rips on his car (SRT4) right out of the parking lot every day; he's been through more than a few turbos. Just make sure your oil is warmed up. =)

Yes. All newly warranted BMW parts do from date of install.

This is exactly right, it is floating on a film of oil so there is no contact - hence no breakin needed.
