Is this a new injector?

Heres the part number on the injector 13537585261-06
But they are in boxes with the part number 13538616079

Now I thought the new injectors ended with 261-11?

Can anyone help confirm the number I stated is or isn't the updated injector

The 079 is not compatible with the 261 per a recent DCS message. Also the 261s are being phased out so the only thing that will be availble soon are the 079s. That being said, if you need 1 079 you need to replace all 6 injectors since you cannot mix them.

Another note to mention. When you do get a new 079 injector and you check the injector itself it will say 261-11 it will not have the 079 part # on it FYI.

Like mentioned they "claim" its a better internal fitering and the thermo compenstating oil
This is the part I was talking about. The new injector still ending in 261

I just put 6 of the updated injectors in my 335i. The injector cases had the 079 p/n but the injectors themselves had 261-11. I went back to the dealer to confirm they didn't charge me $199 each for the old injectors. They showed me on the computer that the 079 is indeed the 261-11. They gave me the explanation that these injectors were made for a different model BMW and the new p/n has not yet been placed on the physical injector yet.

Ps : the first Pn you listed 13537585261-06 were the same numbers on the injectors I pulled out of my 07 except they were -10. That Pn on tishers website is listed @ $119 each. The new injectors 079(261-11) are listed at $199 each . I would take them back and make them verify.

Hope this helps

Can you post a pic of the # on the injector? Another note. BMW has changed the procedure once AGAIN. Before they said you cannot mix the new injectors with the old ones at all and you need 6 injectors. Now you can put the new injectors in ONE bank. Meaning if you have a bad injector in cyl #1. Then all you need to do is change injectors in cyls #1,2 and 3. Not all 6.

That is correct. I just replaced all six since I had the car ready and the dealer matched Tischer BMW's price. Here is a pic of the new injector 261-11(079) that I purchased. Again the case the injector came in had the 079 p/n the injector itself had 261-11
