my first virtual dyno
Been doing my research on this virtual dyno software seems pretty legit. Uses ur logs to estimate ur hp and torque...people from evo communities swear by it so I figured I'd give it a try
2007 335i jb4 map5 downpipes and bms dci Going to dyno my car on a real dynojet in the next few weeks so time will tell but I wanted to see what U guys think? Makes sense ?is it even close ?anyone tried this before? |

As long as as there is no wind and you are on a flat stretch of road that is repeatable it can be used.
I would suggest losing the passengers just to help with consistency. I would expect about 375WHP from those mods and 380-390 TQ. |

There is absolutely nothing wrong with 17's! They're lighter, and tires are cheaper. I love them. Just find a set that are a little more attractive maybe.

Maybe I'm looking at something wrong but to me it looks as if you're running a bit too lean from about 3800rpms on... But that seems to be the deal with guys running JB.

The Subaru guys use virtual dynos quite often. If input variables are accurate and the road used is flat and bump-free, they can be very accurate. However, just like a real dyno, it is a tool. It's best used to see how changes you made to your car in hardware or tune parameters affected your power output.

I would try to get the weight as CLOSEST as possible.
If the car really weighed 1842kg(4060lbs) and was on a flat road with little wind.. I would say it should be pretty accurate! I have Virtual Dynoed 3 logs with JB4, DCI, and 50% e85. All 3 runs were back to back with about 5 minutes in between to let the car cool a bit. They were all within 1-2hp and about 4-5tq. Interested to see your VD to real Dynojet comparison. There have been a few of those comparisons done and they were very very close. |

It there may be some confusion regarding scaling. The AFR is on the left
That boost curve looks a bit unusual considering these cars usually spool hard from the get go and die off in the upper RPM range. There's also quite a bit of room to lean out in mid-upper rpm range. This is generally why I prefer flash tunes, you have quite a bit more control over the adjustments necessary on your vehicle to make the most power consistently. |

The only area that is lean is anything under 3200 RPM.
11:1 AFR on a DI car is over-kill but safe. 11.5-12.1 AFR is what I'd hope to have in an ideal world for this platform. |

These are 2 back to back pulls very consistent car feels super strong. I am running JB4 G5 with Cobb back-end flash. I use to have a stutter between 3k-4k just on Cobb and PTF tune nothing against Cobb It got me into the high 11's at the 1/4 mile track but Jb4 back end flash fixed some nuances that I kept having i no longer throw codes going from 4th to 5th anymore and 5th gear felt like crap pulling in the higher RPM. I am very happy I went JB4 back end flash. I am not sure how accurate this is but car feels beastly. |
