Bad injectors need help

Hello, so my situation is after experiencing some very rough idle and car shaking along with SES light and the smell of fuel in the cabin I took my car into the small shop on my Base (AF) they came to the conclusion that my 3rd cylinder is misfiring due to bad injectors.. They cannot fix this at that shop and recommended the dealership but unfortunately I am out of warranty while overseas and the guy at this shop quoted 1200€ (~$1500) and I think that is being generous of what they will actually charge.

I stumbled upon this http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=651538 and the whole process of replacing the injectors and coding the vehicle yourself seems pretty simple. Granted my car knowledge is very little however I have installed a DCI and changed oil before (lol i know) so I'm not 100% unfamiliar with the engine. This seems like a good opportunity to save some money, that is, if I can successfully do this. My question I suppose is, is this something somebody like me could do without too much trouble? Any help is much appreciated.

If so I would probably end up replacing all 6 injectors for good measure as I'm sure they are all in less than good shape. What are the part numbers and all required parts for this in a 2009 335i (xdrive) e92.

From what I have read so far looks like I need this:
BMW INPA / Ediabas K+DCAN USB Interface

and also 6 proper injectors and decoupling elements?

you are better off just buying 1 new injector and code it yourself. new injectors already have decoupling and oring. Quite easy to replace and yes you need INPA and cable.
The newest injectors are very expensive and you cannot mix old with new so get 1 or 6 of this new http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...7585261&_rdc=1

Here you can see the new part http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...82&hg=13&fg=15

Are you sure about this? I thought now you could mix the new style injectors with the old.

I'm pretty sure you can only mix if on different banks. So, you either find yourself 1 old style injector or 3 new ones for that bank. Due to the cost and the fact you're trying to save money, I wouldn't recommend changing all 6.

If I am at 47k miles wouldn't replacing just 1 be a very temporary fix until the others have problems?

You can still buy the second series injectors for $119 (PN 261)which are the update from the original 2007 design but not the brand new $290 so awesome we nearly tripled the price injectors.

What do these brand new injectors bring to the table that the v2 injectors do not?

Edit: just noticed link above.

You can no longer buy the PN 261 as I tried earlier this week with getbmwparts.com. My order was cancelled and was referred to PN 079. I'm in the same bind, I only have one bad injector and will have to source from somewhere...

Great... so much for that. I was planning to do injectors this summer.... was able to find this http://www.partsvp.com/products/INJE...%252d261).html

Not sure how good this site is though, no where else seems to have them other than ebay...

just throwing this out there for clarification - how do you know if you have a bad injector if there are no codes? Or will a bad injector always come with codes?
