Cant remove JB4 Flash Map Trouble?
I uploaded the JB4 flash map for e85 about 2 months ago and has been running 60% E85 ever since . But for the next couple of weeks I will be out of town with no guaranteed access to my magic corn fuel . but today my COBB decides to act up and is refusing to let me change the map. Just keeping saying "attempting to connect" and sitting that way for about 20 min before i quit. Yes JB4 is in map 0.
Anyways my question. Can i just leave this map on and run 93? I know MAP 5 will adjust accordingly, but when it comes to the flash I not 100% how it adjust fueling. btw sorry if this is a stupid question i just like to cover all my bases before doing something different

that map is very lean.
connect ap to software laptop. remove checkbox BETA update . update ap . try to flash. or more likely jb4 is interfering when it cannot connect that way. try ISO23 first, put map 0 and connect ap

I'd say the latter, the Jb4 is causing the issue. update firmware and try again.

yeah means the JB4 is using the CAN so COBB can;t access it.
are you in ignition mode, with JB4 in map0? I know you are but double check. also did you update to ISO23?

Well just incase someone else gets stuck in this shitty situation i spoke with terry and he informed me
"No known problems there. But you can run map 1 on the E85 flash until you sort it out." So that is what ill do until I get home with more tinkering time thanks everyone for the help and advice!

this can actually happen on the AP as well. Make sure that all 9 pins are about the same length and almost as long as dongle housing. If they aren't you may have to open it up to push them in further. or get some small pliers to pull them out a bit.

hi,
was the issue solved by any chance? I had the same issue, and I cannot flash with cobb while i have the jb4 on(map 0, of course). I also have an INPA cable that i used to flash the TCU with the alpina flash. that cable also does not work when I have the jb on. After removing the jb both the cobb and the cable work. Terry also said it can't be any issue with the JB... but then again, my experience with Terry's support was not that great. My steering wheel controls do not work, and I know that the JB can be controlled from the steering wheel controls, so maybe this has something to do with it. Thanks, Valy |
