Upgraded turbos and the new e63

A person who isn't me recently ran his FBO+ Meth + Stage 1 turbos 19psi against a 2011 E63. The FBO 3er beat it by a car length before shutting down in 4th gear.

These aren't supposed to be any stronger than stock turbos

I beat a c63 on stock turbos FBO race/pump mix three times in a row. No need for upgrade turbos.

According to who? The naysayers who said stage 1's were a failure and would lose hp before they were even tested. The guys at PTF did all they could to break a set including running them up to 28 psi and holding them to 21 psi at redline, they never gave it up. This was while making big numbers with them. It's becoming very clear the stage 1's are a good choice for an upgrade at a near stock price, if you don't need or want every last horsepower from the N54.

This was the reasoning SWIM followed when buying the stage 1's. Stock turbos take a dump? Why not upgrade 'em for close to the OEM price? 19psi is not what a stock TD03 is happy making, guys. The stage 1's obviously are NOT stock.

Any doubts, I'm sure someone who owns a stage 1 vargas car would be game to line up.

An E63 is a lot different, it's a turbo V8 that traps 125-128 tune only.

Props to Vargas for making a MEAN pair of turbos on the cheap.
Does anyone have dyno results with VTT 1's at this time?

so i dont get it...can we continue to run those stg 1s at like 25psi all the time? also the stg 2s should be able to handle 25psi too then right?

So then I don't get it... why would he come out saying that he can run 25psi no problem with his stg 1s... besides being a little stronger than stock which in turn just makes them last longer. ..but how well this make more power than stock?

Sorry to bust anyones bubble, but a C63 is no joke, until it goes up against a FBO 335 running 100% e85 with 100% Meth... Please Note: This is a stock C63 that I took advantage of.

I really wish I knew the answer to that lol, I guess he can answer.
It's just been too long for me to keep paying attention and the whole secret society type attitude just made me stop really caring about them. Have the stg 1's put up any dynos?

Vargas stage 1 has 7 degrees clipped turbine wheel. If you compare dynos of your car before and after installation, you should see that the stock turbos and VTT stage 1 have similar output as far as the boost is the same and ambient temps are similar. The lag should be similar stock turbos having a slight advantage.

Oh, and 28psi peak and 21psi @ redline is insane and generates only heat rather than power.

Yes, it is NA. FBO N54 will handle it.

+1. Not sure why you guys are hell-bent on spinning the shit out of your turbos. The marginal gains in power are simply not worth it IMHO.

I'm pretty sure they did it to see what they could hold. I don't think they have any intentions of running 28 psi.
