Climate control Sync ?
Does anyone know if you can sync the climate control so just turning the drivers side temp knob control both sides at once, I'm sure BMWs I've had in the past if you held something down it meant you only had to turn the drivers side until such time the passenger one was turned

That's quite crap actually. The Mondeo hire car I'm in at the moment has 'mono' or 'stereo' climate as standard. The E90 had an 'all' button too.
Seems lazy to me. LCI maybe? |

My 2010 118d MS has it! Had the F31 330d xdrive demo again today while the 1er was being serviced. Just reminded me how annoying it is that they have deliberately removed it. As you say, it's just software and one button.
My new car now on the boat apparently!

I can't test this, but another post says "Press and hold 'Auto' to sync/lock both zones".
Let us know if it works. |

The early post LCI's didn't either. It was introduced when they moved the heated seat buttons from the bottom of the dash and included them in the revised climate unit.

Too right. Never noticed it had been dropped as never used it in the first place. On the contrary, I like the fact that I have different temperatures side-to-side. It massages my feelings of control.

If the E9x is anything to go by the feature will re-appear on the LCI. Something BMW like to keep back till their LCI models for some reason.

I like the fact you can adjust them separately. That's the whole point of having the two separate temp dials isn't it?!

Why do I need to have it? I set up passenger temp at 20 and manipulate only driver's temp. Why do I need to change the other one? It would be additional press button action and then press it again if you don't want to change - 2 movements anyway - what's the difference though?

My own OCD means that's fine by me! I have to have a difference of 2c with both numbers being odd! Usual setting is 17 for me and 19 for passenger side! Until the missus gets in, whacks hers up to 25 (or 27 (I insist any passengers also follow the odd number rule too!)) and I have to adjust my side accordingly and open the window so I don't overheat!

I get pissed off when manufacturers deliberately make something worse as a sales tactic, see also LED taillights as an example.
