Warning : Wheel theft
Just to let you know, a friend had all 4 wheels nicked off his two week old 320d MS.
Happened right outside his house middle of the night. The wheels were fitted with BMW locking nuts as expected. No lift alarm. Car not broken into. He has had them replaced and fitted 2 sets of locking nuts. Be careful. |

What a royal PITA.
All the best to your mate....I assume he got a crime reference number? Were they 18's or 19's out of interest? I'm heading over to the Stevenage office later so will spread the word in case anyone is offered some "newly acquired" rims. |

He had 18's, all being sorted out through insurance of course, but not good to lose no claims discount because of some toe rags |

Pretty poor alarm system, to be honest!
I thought it could detect a change in angle -jacking up a car is usually quite a disruptive affair, unless you use pneumatic equipment to lift it evenly but this would be difficult due to the noise that would make. Quite disappointing not to be protected against this....

Sorry to hear that bro,
At least at the bright side, you will get a brand new set of rims and tires from your insurance company I hope ~

Makes me so angry when things like this happen. Sickening.
Whenever I go away, I store my car securely in an alarmed garage with metal shutters. Mine is the cheapest car in there. It's packed with Lambos, Ferraris, Rolls, Bentleys, Bugattis etc. Belongs to good friends of mine. I've done so today as I'm away for a week for a well earned break.

Can't remember the last time I read that this has happened. I'm lucky, my work place has two sets of electric gates both with CCTV and the car is garaged at night but you risk it and other damage in other parking places.
Sorry to read about the loss and all the inconvenience. Pete |

I have always used Mcgards , particularly the ultras i think they are the ones with the rotating part on the end.
I have just got my F31 and haven't tried to get any for it yet. |

The rain having gone off at last I have had at last had a good chance to have a proper look at the car I collected on Friday I think that the lock bolts fitted are McGards, so should be better than some former OEMs .

I'm told there are only 30 combinations, £7 each. So a serious thief can have the whole set for a total outlay of £210
