F30 330d remap

Hi all,

I was just wandering if you know of any remaps available for the 330d. I was sure I read on here that there wasn't an actual remap available apart from the ppk...

My friends friend who remaped his car claims he can easily remap the f30 safely for £150 that will get the car 0-62 below 5 seconds.

Cheers Ryan.

I guess the question is more warranty. The F30s are relatively new and all covered under the 3 year warranty, but if BMW realise the car has been mapped by a 3rd party i think they will invalidate the warranty. Big risk....

The other is obviously insurance....

The official way is expensive, but is it really worth it?

Everyone who owns an F30 330d says they are fast enough, so why on earth would you need a remap?
But seriously £150 remap on a nearly £40k car? Hmmmmmm..

Unless I'm seriously behind the times I doubt that very much.

As far as I'm aware the ECU is encrypted and as yet there is no way of mapping via the OBD. I believe that is still the case with the LCI E9x too. Some companies (eg Superchips) can remove the whole ECU to map it but I wouldn't fancy that. Nor would I fancy a friend's friend having a go for 150 quid. Remind me again what the list is on your new motor?

Oh and there's tuning boxes.

I was speaking to superchips today asking if they were likely to have a remap for the f30 330d or any f30. They say that they dont have a way of doing it yet. They cant crack the ecu because of encryption. Which is sad, superchips a really good firm!

There is boxes but they just arent as good of remaps. I havent heard of any one getting one yet. There is a few sites sell them but I tryed one in my 123d and it put it into limp mode.

Mine certainly isn't fast enough

Most companies can't seem to remap the F10/F30 and I've also read reports of BMW going to great lengths to prevent them.

If it is easily detectable that would concern me.

I would have thought a simple code to alter the ratio of wheel turns to speedo reading would do it

To be honest Rich, I said I wasn't to bothered about it because of what I recall reading plus the power must be amazing. He said apparently he gets the maps from a car dealer he knows, maybe a BMW one? Either way I'm not bothering.

I would love to remap mine as long as it was by a reputable company, I had a Bluefin from Superchips for my 635d and it was sublime, gave it some insane mid range and 700 nm

No offence to you but I think your mate's mate is talking out of the back of his neck.

I thought Bluefin was pretty good too. I had it on an A3 2.0TFSI Quattro. Prior to that on other petrol motors I'd had Revo and Custom Code. Bluefin was probably the best out of the lot. Custom Code was very good on my wife's Polo TDI Sport though and she loved showing up much more expensive machinery.
