Talking Another F30 330d EBII...

Picked up my new car last Wednesday then went away for work so only got to drive her properly since Sunday.

The engine and chassis are simply superb and a massive improvement on my previous E90 320d M Sport. I'm just loving it and, touch wood, no niggles yet .

I'm slowly getting to grips with the pro media. I got the Bluetooth music streaming working today but I'm way off sorting BMW apps, voice control and programming the sat nav with favourites etc. I need a half day course on it all. I got the enhanced Bluetooth but not really sure why at the moment. Can anyone point me to some intuitive basic instructions?

I've done a few small mods. Put the black grilles on, a painted rear spoiler from Taiwan (which is superb) and Phillips silver indicators.

Once I've found out how to post pictures, I'll put a few up.

This forum helped me spec a superb car; the Harmon Kardon and visibility package are particular stars

Can you notice the extra weight compared to your E90 320d? And have you got adaptive?

Hmmm... It doesn't turn in quite as sharply perhaps but it's marginal. Obviously it accelerates much harder than the 320 and it feels pretty light on its feet really. Yes I have adaptive and no regrets on spending the money there. I don't have VSS, just the standard 330 setup.

Did you fit the spoiler yourself ? what are the bulbs you mention

the engine and gearbox on the 330d really are sublime together

Yes I fitted it last night. It comes ready painted and is a perfect match to the EBII and a smoother finish than standard BMW. It is double-sided tape fit. Got it off eBay (emotors2000) after reading some good reviews. Bulbs are Phillips silver from amazon and clean up the look of the front light cluster, removing the amber.

Agreed, the gearbox suits the the engine and makes for an awesome car

Looks great. Can really see myself trying to stretch to a "performance" diesel after my 320i. I love this but i'll be ready for a boost in performance next and don't want an economy dive!

Car looks great, I've done the black grills but would like the spoiler too, do you only get one hit and getting it lined up straight, I'm sure I'd end up with it crooked. Also do you have a link or part number for those Phillips silver bulbs*

* found them, they are part number PY21W if anyone else wants to buy them, Philips ones on ebay for £9.95 a pair

Thanks for the comments guys

Yep those are the silver bulbs and seem to be fine.

The spoiler isn't quite a one hit thankfully as it caught on one side when I tried first but pulled away ok. The trick was to slide the spoiler down the boot with fingers on both ends running along the sides of the boot lid. The back of the spoiler holds the tape off the boot then drops down as it reaches the boot lip. You could trial this before taking the tape off (I wish I had ). Anyway, the end result is fabulous IMO. I was looking at the paint finish and match in the bright sun today and it is absolutely spot on.

Loving the car and done over 700 miles already. Averaged 54 mpg on a gentle Eco pro cruise from the Gloucester to Manchester. Averaged a lot less pushing her a little in sport mode

No sail mode. It was one of the last 2013 models so no launch control either. It does have 20 Gb HDD which is bigger than the 12 expected
