Loudspeaker bmw advanced vs HK

Hi all

anyone compared the 2 systems? I like a bit of audio oomph, is it worth going HK?

thanks

I did last year and the HK is far, far superior. It is clearer, has better dynamic range, better tonal quality and is therefore more musical.

HK, along with the visibility pack and variable suspension are the prerequisites for the F30 IMHO

HK is worth the small additional cost. The speakers are rated at a much higher wattage and the clarity remains excellent even at very high volume.

Go for it.

Thanks guys.

Regarding the variable suspension, this is tied in to the sport control button, ie you don't adjust the suspension independently? Does it make a huge difference to the handling?

You have the option to disable the firmer suspension via the iDrive menu.

The firmer suspension defo firms up, but isn't has harsh as on the E9X M Sport suspension. Wonderful when you've got some corners coming your way. Personally I don't use Sport mode that often, I normally just leave the car in comfort as it's nice balance between ECO-PRO and Sport.

I wish I could configure the car to have sport steering but everything else in comfort, its a shame there is no personal custom mode you can configure like the 'M' button on a E92 M3

Ok so 2 almost identical used 330d's - one has adaptive suspension, m sport brakes and bmw apps, the other has black merino leather and electrically adjustable seats and is £500 cheaper. Would you go comfort or handling?

Go for the one with Adaptive Suspenders.

personally i would go for the merino, which is a massive step up in quality from the dakota. the m sport suspension is already perfectly balanced for spirited back road blasting and comfortable motorway driving imo. do you really want to be pressing a button to firm up the suspension every time you go round a bend or roundabout?

i believe the steering firms up using the standard 8AT box when selecting sport.

The steering indeed stiffens up noticeably.

If I was speccing my car again and had to reduce the cost, adaptive suspension is one of the last things I'd delete. For me it makes a big difference to the comfort *and* handling and is worth every penny.

Back to the original question, I believe the US get the Business upgrade as standard so you will see more comparisons in the US sections on that vs HK.
