Removing 535 m sport diffuser

Hi I bought a 550i m sport diffuser to accommodate a quad exhaust, does anyone here know how to remove the existing 535i diffuser? Is it hard to do? Tools needed?

It would be awesome if anyone has a how to video or pictures of the process.

Difficulty rating on a scale of 1-10?

Thanks!

Difficulty rating would be a 3 depending on how mechanically inclined you are. Get under the rear bumper and look at the back of the diffuser, you'll see it's only held on by tabs(if I remember correctly). Not hard to do, just a bit time consuming and hurts your fingers getting those tabs undone. You should be able to swap the diffusers in about 15-20 minutes!

I would rate this a 1-2 and should take no more than 15mins if that. No special tools needed. There is about 6 or so push pin style tabs under the diffuser that you will need to remove. Once those are out you can just push the diffuser out from behind.

Geez way to make me look like an amateur haha! But everything Alan said is right. Very simple and straightforward. At some point you'll probably think "If I keep tugging, something's going to break." But just be patient and keep popping those tabs off.

Well that usually is the main concern...feeling that we might damage something. Most technicians are MUCH more rough than we are haha. Over time with experience you develop a sense of how much pressure to apply and when something is at a breaking point.
