New alloys on 320 ED?

Has anyone experimented putting new alloys on their 320 ED? What does it look like and how does it drive?

I've read a few posts on here saying that it's not possible - I think those that have tried have had issues with knocking / tracking etc due to the way the ED is configured.

Really??? Wow, I didn't know that. I haven't read anywhere about people having problems.

Lowered meaning the ED models have a lower suspension and can't accommodate bigger tyres?

Has an impact on the offset thus only certain alloys will fit if any without the knocking. I would also consider the insurance aspect of it as that car is only made to have 16" alloys, unlike other models which can go beyond 20". (factory option wise)

I like you do not really like the wheels on my 320ED, I was gutted to see that BMW now offers a 320ED Business model that has different wheels !

This model is fitted with...

16" light alloy wheels V-spoke style 390

So there maybe 2 options for you !

I've found the post I was referring to -
http://www.f30post.com/forums/showth...hlight=320d+ed

I'd love to hear if anyone has managed to fit 18's on an ED. Looks very nice on the pictures, shame about the issues.

It is possible.

Sytner often put Alpina style alloys on a high spec 320ED.

Have a look at this CLICK HERE

They look like 19"

Those are the 21" Alpina wheels. There's no way you could fit those on a 320 ED. especially after what everyone here has said about the ride height and knocking...

Interested in understanding what is different about an ED that doesn't allow wheel choice like any other f30?

Apparently they have lower suspension for more efficiency and the bigger tire size makes the steering wheel knock?!? I wanna change my alloys but after reading the comments, it doesn't seem like a good idea.

The ED is lower by the same 10 mm as M Sport and the rolling diameter of the 205/60 R16 ED wheels and tyres is the same as the 225/50 R17 of the SE spec. So unless there is something else going on with the suspension settings, it is not obvious what is preventing larger wheels being fitted.

I know it's hard to believe but that is an ED in the picture. Did you click on the link where it says "Click Here"?

This is not the first ED I've seen Sytner do this with. Before I bought my 320 I was looking at an Alpine White one very similar spec to this.

Yes I was dubious but it's clearly an ED when you look at the information on the website and some of the telltale signs on the car.

I do want bigger wheels but those are a bit too pimped for my ride!

It's Proof of concept though.

Why not call Sytner and play the daft lad and ask a few questions?

Don't ask you don't get.
