HID's fitted. No coding, no issues.
as the title. http://www.car-mod-shop.co.uk/ brought the H7R's from here as the halogen headlights are not the projector type. Gave them a half hour heat run and no issues. the 2 supply cables to the ballast had no extra heat at all. you can feel the headlight lens is a lot warmer, but nothing dangerous. I'll get some pics up if needed of the beam pattern..

Enjoy blinding everyone
I can see why people do it, xenons produce such better light but its MOT failure without auto leveling and washer, and I have yet to see aftermarket ones fitted round where I live that arent either excessively bright, or angled wrong - but maybe you have done better as you have thought about which bulbs to get |

I did a lot of research and they definitely do not blind anyone. My car was a prebuilt one at a bargain price but without xenons or HK, so I wanted to do something with the lights as they are literally some of the worst ive ever seen for night driving.
Like i said, i went for the 'R' variant to avoid the dazzle and stuck with a modest 35W 6000K set up. Infinitely better now and only £50. I know i dont have headlight washers, but the car is always kept sparkly clean and headlight washers are crap anyway. |

You will blind everyone, they are probably illegal, and you will over time ruin your lenses plus as mentioned they will fail the MOT....

But I do stand by the gist of my words which is aftermarket do tend to blind - you dont have the auto leveling - ballast isnt the same - it doesnt adjust for angle of the road, or weight in the car. But I appreciate you want to make your car nicer, and you have paid attention to the correct bulb type which is good - its just a shame aftermarket cannot be made non glare like OEM |

No offense taken, as I've stated in previous posts I was unable to spec a build and have the same offer so had to take a ready built car a the time. It was too good an offer to say no to.
I would under normal circumstances always spec xenons (this should be std kit), but it didnt have that or HK. I am however, very particular with my car and what i do to it. This included the prior research and subsequent tests with friends cars down a long private road. All was and is fine. This wasnt done to 'look good', just to have lights that actually work at night. |
