Well just as I am about to let the F31 330DMS go, a brick almost came through the F.....ing Windscreen
Phoned Auto glass none in UK, could be some weeks
It's only a 3 series for goodness sake.

Go to a BMW dealer, bet they can get a genuine one quicker and then tell your insurers its the only option as you can't wait weeks.

There have been problems reported with auto wipers on copy screens reported on E90s so best to insist on genuine although given the car is going soon I guess its not overly important to you.

I know when I needed my windscreen replacing it took nearly 8 weeks to get the replacement ordered in. I contacted the BMW Customer service people and they paid for a hire car for me as it was going to take so long. Could be worth a try?

Autoglass are on the case this morning, will phone later with a date.

got mine replaced within 24hrs - it was hit by a stone on the first day i had it. I used National Windscreens. The glass came from Pilkington I believe

You migh want to take off the plastic trim yourself on either side of the windsreen as they scretch rather easily if they not careful, you can just pull it off it clicks into 5 clips underneath start at the top. It cost £90 the pair so worth to keep it in a good condition.
At least it's hasn't happened to your wonderful M5

I remember that same problem with Auto Glass. They originally ordered a non HUD screen but after checking with their local dealership they managed to put in my chassis number for them to get the windscreen they needed.

I ended up waiting an eternity with my car parked up whilst waiting for the glass to come in only for them to forget to bring the surround trims they needed so I then had to make another appointment.

Took a long time but all sorted eventually

Slightly off topic but thought I'd share my recent experience with my wife's Evoque.

A stone has chipped the Panoramic sunroof and it now as a 3 foot crack across it. The cost to replace is about £2500!

Fortunately for me it's covered as part of the glass breakage on my insurance with Privledge. It's only the £75 excess to pay for me with no NCB loss. It's also going to be 2 weeks to get the part.
For those that order the sunroof on any car, check what's covered as part of the glass breakage when you get insurance quotes I was lucky as I did not check this when I took the policy out.
