WARNING! Disconnect the battery before doing this! IF YOU UNPLUG THE AIRBAG WHILE YOU RESTORE POWER TO THE VEHICLE THE SRS LIGHT WILL COME ON AND SAY ON. Only the dealer can erase the error code.

After struggling with taking of the airbag on my F30 for about 30 minutes, I figure I would share a better way I discovered with you guys. I searched for directions and other youtube videos but they werent much help.

This is good for you guys doing carbon fiber bezels, paddle shifter upgrades, or just swapping for a M sport steering wheel ect.

Initially yes, I was after a rattle. So I took everything apart and learned a few tricks how to remove the airbag easier.

Thanks very much for posting the video. I've been wondering about getting the upper shroud off the steering column (to try to fix some rattling in there) and now I know what it looks like underneath and how it is attached. Thanks!

Yes if you have the means to download it to your laptop or you have the specific tool.

In any case the dealer did mine as my car was in for 1st service. No charge to reset the code.
