Just installed Vista on a Mac.......weird though

Just been installing Windows Vista on my MacBook.

Weird experience, but I was needed Windows to run a windows only software from uni:sad0147:

Anybody done that to there Mac yet?

Have to say the process was very smooth (only after reinstalling Mac OSX though, as my hard drive was corrupted)

What are you using?? Parallels (I hope not) or Bootcamp ??

(Parallels lets Windows run INSIDE the Mac OS --- Bootcamp allows the machine to physically BOOT into Windows, running Vista natively and not in a separate environement within the Mac OS)

Used Bootcamp, quite easy in fact. But will have to upgrade to Leopard when it will be released as you ca not use Bootcamp thereafter....

But Leopard might be worthwhile anyway

Or you could try installing VMware Fusion and then running Windows XP as a Virtual Machine ??

It seems to have much better performance than Parallels ?

Using BootCamp for XP and as a drive from Parallels, with a Vista virtual drive also under Parallels.
Faster on my MacBook Pro 2.4Ghz than any sub £2000 PC laptop

I find I need the BootCamp version for the few USB devices that won't share happily under Parallels and Mac
