403 vs 400 style wheels - car washes
For those with 403 19" wheels, are you able to go through regular car washes ( those with the rails) without causing damage to the wheels. How about the 400 18"?

I once tried bringing my Corvette to a drive through car wash...turns out having 1.5" of ground clearance and a 12" wide wheel does not work well. It took 4 guys to lift the car off the end of the track because the air dam got stuck on the rail. Talk about freaking out.

I take my 403's through the car wash all of the time too, no issues. All of our major car wash chains have pretty wide rails, as half of the cars here are Escalades running 24"s with no sidewalls, and at least 12" wide in the rear! I agree too that the 403's are impossible to clean thoroughly, and I use a hand drill attachment that saves a ton of elbow grease. |

I ended up changing my order to 403's. Decided they just looked better due to their size. The more I looked at the 400's especially on xdrives, they just looked a bit small. The 400's seemed fine on the RWD.
I looked at the rails at my local car wash and they are wide but there is only rubber on one side. I can see getting damage if you don't come in straight. |
