Having problems with the DPF and I'm trying to force a regen via DIS Software but nothing's happening.

I don't know if I'm doing it 100% correct so could somebody advise how to do this?

I've been on the motorway looking at this screen... Temperature hovering around 85-90 degrees and doing 50 miles or so... So I would have thought this criteria would trigger it but it just continuously say 'regeneration not active'

How much fuel did you have in the tank at the time?

Just under a full tank? It's got autovogue upgrade and I don't if it's been removed... But it's bringing up the code and warning light on iDrive

Ah ok. I was just ruling out insufficient fuel for the process. It should be working. Is there any other fault codes?

Just for backpressure but that's all tied in...!!

If I'm doing a force regen... Should the car be on when I request it or off?

Either or really. When I've done mine it's been on and then usually started after about ten mins driving. I do tend to give it a boot full when warm to get the exhaust up to temp.

That's what I've done today...
Travelled from Glasgow to Gretna... Stopped and there was loads of soot on the rear bumper and no code.

Went for lunch, jumped back in the car and again it appeared... Think it's just heavily clogged and needs done a few times?

Garage List
Your display indicates 4992M (Metres not Miles) since the last regeneration.

In 150,000 miles I've never known from the way the car is behaving that it is in regen mode. It must have completed a few though.

I know... Very odd... Gonna shove it on the computer again today and see what it's saying... Am guessing if it's giving me these problems... Then it will fail the emissions test on the mot? (due anytime now really)

Diesels don't get tested on emissions, just smoke output, and idle and under load.

That doesn't sound right. Soot (or ash) should not get thru a DPF.

Distance since last regen gives incorrect readings on BT software too. Can you get the "fuel used since last regen" reading, that gives you the distance based on average consumption.
Would be interesting too to know what the back pressure reading is.
