CIC not reading DVD's

Finally got my cic coded for dvd in motion.
Now the dvd player keeps giving me a "format unreadable" i did not use the dvd player much (once or twice a year ago)it did work then... I confirmed its Region 1 in the coding area, CD side no problems, dirty lens? or its done for...
