Comfort Access Stopped Working

Hey guys,
So my comfort access has stopped working. I can't unlock the doors by grabbing the handle but I CAN lock them from the driver door. The trunk release also doesn't work unless I have the doors unlocked or hit the button on the key fob even when i have the key right next to the trunk handle.

I've heard of the door handle unlock function stop working but never the trunk as well which makes me think it's not just the door handle that has a bad sensor or whatever.

Any ideas?

+1... Anything else seem to not be working or acting strange? Batteries can cause all sorts of different havoc when they are getting low

I have been getting a battery light occasionally. Maybe that's it... I'll replace it and report back.

Thanks

Is there a protocol to changing the battery or any special process? I can't remember if there is a specific process to changing it or if you can just take the old one out and replace it. Don't want to mess up the electronics

No special procedure, just replace. Make sure you get a quality name brand battery and not some $1 store knockoff one.

I am using Panasonic bought for $2 at a local Dollar Store. Brand new battery means you can lock and unlock with the fob at least 25 feet away

Try putting the fob in the slot and start the car. Sometimes doing that will help reset my CA.

Oh I think there was a misunderstanding. I just replaced my fob key. But my car battery is also low as I get the battery symbol occasionally. Would a low car battery affect that?

Could be the door actuators or a fuse.

I have this too,
passenger side unlock with a finger tip at the door knob, but driver side doesn't work.
I can no longer start the car with fob in my pocket...
well I do have 5 years old battery, but I don't think its the battery.
And I did changed battery in the fob with duracell ones. It does its job lock/unlock from 25feet away

Yes it can be the car battery, just replaced mine on a 2007 E93 and my comfort access worked afterwords and it had problems before.

I could touch the door handle and nothing would happen and my convertible top wouldn't go up sometimes which was car battery related.

If you are getting the square battery symbol on your dash when you start your car, your battery is on it's way out. Your 335 has a smart electronics system that constantly monitors battery voltage and will start turning off non-essential systems in a step-wise fashion as voltage drops. The comfort access system is one of the first ones to be shut down. When it won't work, you can use the regular buttons on the key fob to get in the car. When you crank it, it should also give you a car on a lift symbol in green.

Replace your car's battery and your CA will be back again, good as new.
