Help - Can Cdn buy from US Dealer

Hi everyone:

I need your help ASAP...

Like most of the readers on this forum I despise the new 2014 coupe, and want to get a 2013 335i coupe. There are none left in Cda with my preferences ergo considering what it would take to buy one from a US Dealer close to the border. I understand that they will honour the warranty? but not the free maintenance? And there is a 6.1% tax since car isn't made in North America. Mods to meet Cdn standards required. Anyway, just wondering if anyone has done this and who can be trusted out there, and what's involved. Looks like a long shot, but who knows?

Suggest you look in the regional sub forum for Canada...there's a sticky that should have all the info you need regarding importing into Canada, but yes it has to be a USED or perhaps DEMO car.

Really unlikely any US dealers will sell a Canadian buyer a new 2013 BMW.

Correct me if I am wrong but the rule is it has to be at least 6 months old OR a certain 5,000 miles on the odometer in order to import the vehicle to Canada

You can NOT buy New Vehicles from US if you live in Canada. You CAN buy used though. I believe there are no rules with used as long as there has been a previous owner on the vehicle.
