hi, first post!! :)

hey everyone,
big ups to all the people on this forum with really good information! I don't have an e90 but i'm trying to choose one for my mom. i was thinking about getting a 330xi. been reading all over the forum and one thing i wanted your opinions on was the options and packages.

could anyone give some good descriptions on these and whether it's worth it or not? i'm going to dealer this saturday but i would rather get your input on these than the salesman. thanks!

one more thing: anyone know how the interior seating compares to a e39? legroom, headroom, shoulder, front seat, rear seat? any info would be greatly appreciated!

thanks and keep rollin!

it's definitely bigger than your e39... if it's for your mom ( a lady!!) i would recommend comfort access, pp, cold weather package, and navigation... i don't think you mom would need 18 in rims on her bimmer right? so no SP.Oh yeah... Automatic tranny.. but does she really need 330 XI?? 325 xi has plenty of power and it cost almost $6000 cheaper. so.... Have fun buying Brand NEW BIMMER!! I had so much fun!! And go to www.bmwusa.com and try to build your own with all the options!!!

nuwde - welcome to the forum! The E90 is larger most all areas compared to the E46 and E39. I'm not overly tall, but I find that back seat quite comfortable.

What part of MD are you in? If buying a car in DE is an option for you let me know. I can give you a sales contact that is the very best CA that BMW has!

e90 bigger than e39 - that is what i wanted to hear. my mom wanted to get another 5 to replace the e39, but i'd rather get her the e90. however, i'm sure the new 5 wagon is also big and even more luxurious.

what is comfort access? i couldn't tell on the website if that is a remote start thing. does it come with an alarm system?

i don't believe she needs 18" but what else does the sp come with? sport seats, lumbar support? is the suspension tuned more sporty??

i am going to test drive the 325xi and 330xi with my mom and see which she likes. she drives the e39 528i so i'm sure she would want
something at least as powerful.

thanks for the reply!!

The wheels are just the stock 16" 325i wheels. Most others would look down their noses at them, but think they're fine.

Silver Spring eh, yeah that's a little too far from Delaware. The xi doesn't really seem to have any less power that I've noticed. Of course I'm not trying to impress anyone when the light turns green.

The 5 is certainly more luxurious and larger, but the 3's fit us nicely (plus I couldn't afford two 5's!). Good luck!

Welcome.

Comfort Access (CA) is not a remote start. It lets you lock/unlock doors and start the car without having to take the key fob out of your pocket or purse. Without it then you need to insert the key fob in the slot below the push button.

No alarms on the e90. It's a dealer installed accessory.

Since you mentioned the Xi's, the SP only comes with the sport seats, sport steering wheels, lumber is on the PP and the Xi's have their own suspension tuned somewhere between the standard and the sport suspension. Also depending on 325 or 330xi, they come with all-season 17" and 159's or 158's wheels.

If you she wants high performance tires then you can upgrade the SP wheel to staggered 18" performance tires with 162 wheels on the 330xi.

Let us know what she gets.

They do look nice, similar to my 161 style.

I would definitely get the CA. It's one of the better deals at $455 invoice price.

My dealer is charging me $589 for the alarm installed.
I think people have bought it for around $250-$300 and you can install it yourself too.

Yes I have SP on my 330xi with the 17" all-seasons.

The ED experience is great. I drove my car for a week and am now waiting for re-delivery. I've have about another 6 weeks wait.
