Experimenting with the N55 airbox

I saw posts on the N54 airbox mods and I want to see if there's a difference with the N55 airbox "opened up" too. I cut open a 2" by 5" rectangular hole on the side wall of the air box and left everything else stock. I took it out for a spin and WHOA, this car is now breathing! The torque was awesome and the response was unbelieveable. Even at light throttle, the motor's response was immediate, its revving a lot quicker than I normally put my right foot down as usual. The air induction noise is more present and its agressive sounding. I must say, I bought new life to the car and I feel I don't need any air filter mods anymore. I conclude its the original inlet hole of the airbox was the air restrictor. The next thing I have to do now is to find a suitable inlet to get the cold air from the front of the bumper and not intaking hot air from the engine during stop and go's and traffic.

Yeah, OP can you post pics of where and what it looks like?
Maybe like a DIY.

Also, what are your current mods?

If you take the hood off the car, add a large CAI scoop, and remove the air filter as well, you will get even more power and responsiveness!

That just made my day. German engineering has nothing on American ingenuity.

This is worthless until you do a before and after dyno comparison
